Family is the most important group to which most people ever belong. Most people but not all are born to parents who have set up a home and are ready to welcome children. The parents give the daily care necessary for young children and teach them their first lessons in how to live with other people to love, help and in time take responsibilities. In some families, such loving care is missing. This does lessen the importance of the family. But it may a difference in how the children feed toward other people. There are many different kinds of families besides the father-mother- children family. Some ot the other kinds are families without children, families made up of one parent and a child or children, and families with a parent, a stepparent, and children.
If you see out of space, thousands of millions of kilometres away from our planet, you would see the earth as a tiny ball. It moves in a wide path around a star that you might recognice as our sun. At various distances from the sun, you would also see eight other spherical bodies of different sizes. They are theother planets, all travelling in the same direction in almost circular paths around the sun. Moving around some of the planets you would see smaller balls, the satellites, or moons of the planets. In the space between the orbits of Mars and jupiter, there would be thousands of small planets, or asteroids, revolving around the Sun. Here and there accross the path of the planets you would see comets, tarry -headed objects, sometimes with long tails streaming after them as they drew near the sun. You might also see even smaller particles swirling through space, the meteors. All these bodies make up our vast solar systems. They are moving together through space as a unit, at the rate of some 19 kilometres per second, in the general direction of the blue star Vega.
People can do alot about the conditions in which they live. They should refrigerate food properly when necessary. They should not leave food lying around because it may attract insect and rats. To avoid these pests, the proper care of garbage is also very important, careful housekeeping is extremely important to sanitation, and good health. People should keep all parts of the house neat and clean. They should scrub bathrooms and kitchens often, and use disinfectants freely. The fight against disease germs is not only part of sanitation official's job. Modern scientific discoveries have brought new health problems. Some of these are possible dangers of new drugs; the misuses of insect killers; air pollution especially by some from industrial factories, and exhoust form auto mobiles; and sea shore areas with sewage and chemical wastes. Sanitary conditions protect people from germs, but health problems not caused by germs are growing challenge in the field of sanitation today.
Athletes from all over the world take part in the modern Olympic Games. Any nation may enter a team in the games if it agrees to follow the rules of the International Olympic Committee. The Games are held during the last year of each Olympiad. An Olympiad is a period of four years ending in a leap year- 1980, 1984, and so on.Olympic Games were held in ancient Greece as long ago as 776 B.C . The custom lasted for more than 1.000 years but then died out after Greece had become part of the Roman Empire. In the late 1800's , Baron Piere de Coubertin ( 1863-1937), of France, decided to try to start the Olympic again. He wished to renew those ideals of excellence of body, mind, and spirit shown in the classic Greek Olympic Games. He succeeded, and the modern Olympic Games began in Athens, Greece, in 1896.Through myth and legend, the Olympic Games can be traced to religious festivals held in tribute to the pagan gods of the Greeks. These gods were like hunabs in some ways, but were superior in all respects. They could not die, they were immortal. they were said to have bodies of great size, strength, and beauty. They had the power to change from one form to another. Pretendeng to be ordinary people, they sometimes married mortal men and women and had children. The first Olympic winners were said to be either descendants of the gods or superior human beings, like some of the heroes of Greeks legends.

The human body is made up of countless of cells. Food is needed to build up new cells and replaces parts that are damaged or worn out so that the body can grow. Food is also needed as fuel to rpovide energy for each cell. so that it can carry out its work properly. However the foot that we eat must be changed into substances that can be carried in the blood to the places where they are needed. This process is called digestion.
